Only Inside North Korea (and Iran) Was Nuclear Testing Applauded

Monday’s apparent nuclear test in North Korea was reported to its citizens as “a historic event which greatly encouraged and pleased the Korean army and people.”

The media inside North Korea extolled and applauded the event.

That is because all the media in North Korea are controlled by the ruling Korean Workers’ Party, led by its General-Secretary Kim Jong-il.

The only other nation with a media that universally applauded North Korea’s reported test was Iran: another nation that controls its national media.

Only propaganda approved by the Communist regime is reported by newspapers, radio and television in North Korea. Negative news about the country which is commonly available in the United States and elsewhere is ignored.

Part of our interest in Vietnam involves Mrs. "Cuc" Foshee who is an American citizen held in jail in Vietnam.

According to the Orlando Sentinel in a story on October 9, 2006: "Foshee, a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody Sept. 8, 2005. She was not charged, not allowed to post bail, denied an attorney and put in a prison in Ho Chi Minh City, her family says. Her case has now become a cause for Vietnamese advocacy groups in this country."

The Communist insurgents in the Philippines, Chavez and the Castro brothers also applauded it. Those are the public cheerleaders, privately, every hater of the West / the US also applauded. That is what we face.
