Anther reason to support Israel is because God commands it. Good enough for me!

Where did he tell you this? I don't think God cares about nation-states - only people.

Perhaps you should read Ezekiel or is it Daniel. There is a passage the describe what happens to thost that abandon Israel. A woe be or woe unto in somewhere. Anytime God say "woe", bad things happen.

To believe this you have to be either ignorant of the Old Testament or believe that it doesn’t apply to the topic at hand anymore. It doesn’t apply to salvation, but I wouldn’t be so sure about “God not taking an interest in nation states”. Heck just the recreation of Israel in 48 should convince you otherwise.

You, sir, are mistaken.

Genesis 12:1-3
"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

And BTW, the fulfillment of the law by the Redeemer does not buy the redeemed any right to ignore being obedient out of love.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Tim 3:16)

There is no exclusion of the Old Testament.
