Regardless of the reason that the Feds traced the emails to George - The Other's computer, it is in the Sun because he is a supporter of Ehrlich and Steele.
I am sure that had he been a supporter of O'Malley, caught in the same way, it never would have made the 'news.'
It sounds like the police took the e-mail name, "George Orwell", and just looked for other people using similar user-names, and cross-referenced to the Baltimore area -- and then looked for 'politically active' people.
Sounds like a legit investigative process, but not in itself enough to support a charge, but enough to support a search warrant.
So they searched his computer -- did that produce further incriminating evidence or not?
"Did I miss the premise of the situation? Are they saying you're some nut job who sent the threat out of the blue, or was there some incident which was supposed to have gotten you mad enough to send the email?"
Hi,
There was no incident. I'm well known in Baltimore arts/music circles and all will tell you I'm a friendly, easy going person.
