Sorry, they don't have an ounce, they don't have a drop. Honor demands fair fights against armed adversaries, because it wants to demonstrate bravery.

Our Western concept of honor is irrelevant. It's their perception that's relevant including suicide missions.

Actually everything they are doing is dishonorable in their own traditions as well. They just don't know their traditions. They only know political cynicism, Nazism, etc.

“To sum up: the Arab has borrowed everything from other nations, literature, art, science, and even his religious ideas. He has passed it all through the sieve of his own narrow mind, and being incapable of rising to high philosophic conceptions, he has distorted, mutilated and desiccated everything. This destructive influence explains the decadence of Musulman nations and their powerlessness to break away from barbarism…”

LIFE IN THE GRAVE

Many people doubt the fact that people in the grave are going through severe punishments or enjoying a peaceful stay. This is due to the reason that when a grave is dug, we do not see any fire burning people or gigantic snakes biting dead bodies. All we see are bones mixed with soil. Well, then where is the punishment or peace? Whether we can see it or not, the promise of Allah is true. Allah gave us many things to understand things better. He tells us that there are signs in His creations for those who think. To understand this particular issue (grave) better, we can examine our dreams. Say, a person is sleeping right beside you. He is seeing a dream where some people are trying to kill him. They catch him and starts beating him. Finally, they take out a gun and shoots him. You are sitting beside this sleeping individual, but you do not see any of these things. However, he is experiencing all these things, it's just you cannot see. The same way, that individual in the grave is going through all the things that are promised by Allah, it's just we cannot see.

In the forest near Sidney the bottom half of a tree trunk is bowed in such a way that it resemble a person in a posture of Islamic prayer, the ruku. Looking closer we see the 'hand of the tree man are resting on his knees. The most amazing thing is that the tree man is directly facing the Holy place in Mecca 'Kaaba' which is the direction Muslims face when performing their daily prayers. Isn't it amazing?

The journalist-poet was speaking the language of traditional honor...

NO, it's NOT "traditional honor" - it's the puffed up macho "honor" of a black street gang member waiting for someone to dare to "diss" him...

When the post-honor West says, "Come, now, give up this foolishness, join our club, be free and rich," they hear something more like, "Be our poodle, sit at our feet, enjoy the fruits of capitulation." Admonitions that bellicosity accomplishes nothing miss the point, which is that the very act of fighting ("resistance") redeems honor and therefore accomplishes what matters most.

One thing is for sure. We are speaking very different languages to each other. We translate the words, between Arabic and English, but they misunderstand us just as deeply as we misunderstand them. That's a good recipie for a long, long war.
