Thanks Knarf. Libertarian444 found out who appointed the Judge. Wanna take a wild guess who?

The leftist Judge gave her 1/15 of the sentence set up by Federal guidelines. She will be representing terrorists again within one year, the time she has to appeal the sentence.

From the article: " '...I hope the government realizes their error ... I hope the appeal will vindicate me and make me back into the lawyer I was.' "

From the wording of your post, it is apparent you are a lawyer and have experience with and admiration for this particular judge.

The person she was helping to communicate with other terrorists is a convicted terrorist who plotted the death of Americans. The people he was communicating with (through her) are in a war with our country, and want to kill as many unarmed American civilians as they can, the same type of people, same mindset as those who slaughtered thousands of Americans on 9/11.

I am curious, not trying to be a wiseguy. Why, in your opinion, is this sentence so light? Many of us feel that she has engaged in treason, and while the bar has been set so high as to render that offense un-convictable, many of us feel that she should have spent the rest of her days in prison, or at the very least, got more than a slap on the wrist.

The federal guideline set a proposed standard that, absent reasons for departure therefrom, are suggestions not mandates. Before a convicted defendant is sentenced there are extensive background investigations and a report by the probation department and a reccomendation as to sentence. A good judge takes into account the defendant as well as the offense.

I take no backseat to those who want to protect the USA. I spent 30 years of my life doing exactly that and now have sons and a step-grandson engaged in the same career with all three in either of our two combat zones- and the older one with a Purple Heart earned in 2004.

The sentence of an elderly lawyer with no previous legal decalfactions represents the end of her license and career. The sentence is sufficient with relation to the law violation. It's OK if others disagree, that's part of the system and why Article III judges don't have to answer at the polls to a transitory majority and play to the crowd to remain on the Bench. The administration of justice is nonpartisan.

A very, very gentle slap on the wrist.

My money say that she does not do one day of prison time.

spare us.

this was a setup from the start - the case was shopped to this judge, and he delivered.

"...The sentence is sufficient with relation to the law violation..."

Thank you for your honest answer.

May I ask you two questions regarding the severity of her crime:

1.) Is it possible that a person in prison will still attempt to influence events outside of prison, and can that be done sucessfully?

2.) If he was to successfully pass information through her that resulted in loss of American lives, would that be sufficient cause for a heavier sentence, along the lines of 30 years?

Balony! His actions in this case tell where his sympathies lie.

Hint: They are with the security of the United States.

In a just world this bit*C would heve been hung and she should have been. Or if not hung , sentenced to 30 years or moer. My vote goes for more. She has the blood of untold sould upon her hands.

What happened to the charge of treason, of "aiding the enemy"? Why wasn't she charged with treason and receive the appropriate punishment?

In this case the judge overlooked the traitorous attorney defendant's offenses in favor of furthering the defendant's future opportunities to aid and assist terrorists.

There is nothing within my post which raises the question of or makes insinuations as to your personal loyalties.

Middie wrote: "The sentence is sufficient with relation to the law violation."

"The sentence is sufficient with relation to the law violation the traitorous defendant, the terrorists she assisted and all future terrorists.

Middie wrote: "The administration of justice is nonpartisan."

The administration of justice should be nonpartisan, yet in this case was anything but nonpartisan. The judge ruled against the United States.

The judge and possibly even the prosecuting attorney own the answers to those questions, F.O. The traitorous defendant lawyer is now laughing all the way to the terrorists' lair.
