Just for you Max, in fond memory of Angelique..MARINARA SAUCE
(Meatless Italian)* 2 tbsp. pure olive oil
* 1 sm. yellow onion, chopped
* 3 small garlic cloves, minced
* 1 tbsp. sugar
* 3 tsp. fresh basil, or 2 dry
* 1 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1 (14 oz.) tomato sauce, or 1 lb fresh roma tomatoes, blanched and peeled
* 1 (6 oz.) tomato paste1) Cook onion and garlic in oil.
2) Stir in rest of ingredients.
3) Cook covered for 20 minutes, until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Makes 3 cups,
