WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid paid cash for a $750,000 condo at the Ritz-Carlton where he lives. But when it comes to giving the doorman and other support staff Christmas bonuses, he's been using campaign donations instead of his own money.
Federal election law bars candidates from converting political donations for personal use.

OMG! Even though they are doing his dirty work, I am surprised the Clinton News Network has been forced to cover this.

You're kidding. CNN said this? Really? Wow. No, of course not. It is an AP story carried on CNNs website. (Although the fact that AP is all over Reid is amazing in and of itself.)

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid paid cash for a $750,000 condo at the Ritz-Carlton where he lives. How long has Harry been in the Senate, and what is the annual salary for a Senator?

Where'd the old boy get 750M to buy a hotel condo at the Ritz? That's a lot of long green.

To admit all these discrepancies should be probable cause enough for the FBI to seize all records pertaining to the land deals and possible fraud. The Justice Dept needs to get in gear and get some search warrants for this shenanigans.

MSNBC has had this on regular rotation all day long, including the land deal. They are finally comparing republican and democrat scandals. Norah O'Donnell mentioned Jefferson, Reid, and a copuple of other demo scandals, alomng with the Foley story, that they are all now saying appears not to have gained much traction with the voters.

I think that might have been a sweetheart deal at $750k too. Most units in that building are $1 million-plus. When it opened it was touted as the most expensive condo building ever built in DC. It's quite a ways from Capitol Hill, too. Makes you wonder why Reid bought there. It would be worth some digging to find out who developed it and what the developer's ties are to Reid.
