Internet addicts

Wow. I'm glad I'm not one of those. I actually turned my PC completely off 3 nights ago.

The United States could be rife with Internet addicts as clinically ill as alcoholics, an unprecedented study released suggested.

Right, because sitting around staring blankly at the TV like most families did prior to the Internet was so much more healthy.

I spend 8 hours a day "on-line", either surfing or playing MMO's.

Damn.

"in ways that mirrored alcoholics using booze"

How dare you! I spend only a few measly hours a night on FR, and so what if I have a six-pack or two while here? Does that make me an addict?

According to preliminary research, the typical Internet addict was a single, college-educated, white male in his 30s, who spends approximately 30 hours a week on non-essential computer use.

Get your facts straight!

The correct term is: FReepaholic. :-)

A study supporting the thesis that there are too many studies. They've run out of things to research, so now a Stanford "intellectual" conjectures that we spend too much time researching. Must not be much night life in Palo Alto. There's a liberal law in here somewhere.
