I'm with you, kara.

A big fish did this and is planting it on a lower level minion. S.O.P.

We don't call them rats for nothing.

Not likely anytime soon. I'm surprised Meuller was able to find that we even have that word in our vocabulary.

What he did was just raise the bar to qualify for treason. Chances are that we'll never catch the guy anyway.

- Christine York joins the staff from the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Oversight. A former U.S. Army counterintelligence professional, York previously worked at the Office of Intelligence Review at the Defense Department Inspector General’s office.

Wonder when she worked at the Defense Department Inspector General’s office. Wasn't that office found to have a bug planted in it sometime in 2001?

"Hmmm, so the Bush Administration DID get rid of some people in positions with the power to influence matters. I also think I know what "being even-handed" about Israel means."

It appears that way - from reading a lot of the posts on FR, I never knew that. Not sure about the validty of this author, and it's in Pat Buchanan's magazine [so this article is anti-neo-con] but here's a link to the whole article I found in doing some searching on msn and some other info in it:

In Rumsfeld’s Shop

A senior Air Force officer watches as the neocons consolidate their Pentagon coup.
By Karen Kwiatkowski

I had never worked for neocons before, and the philosophical journey to understand what they stood for was not a trip I wanted to take. But my conversations with coworkers and some of the people I was meeting in the office opened my eyes to something strange and fascinating. Those who had watched the transition from Clintonista to Bushite knew that something calculated had happened to NESA. Key personnel, long-time civilian professionals holding the important billets, had been replaced early in the transition. The Office Director, second in command and normally a professional civilian regional expert, was vacant. Joe McMillan had been moved to the NESA Center over at National Defense University. This was strange because in a transition the whole reason for the Office Director being a permanent civilian (occasionally military) professional is to help bring the new appointee up to speed, ensure office continuity, and act as a resource relating to regional histories and policies. To remove that continuity factor seemed contraindicated, but at the time, I didn’t realize that the expertise on Middle East policy was being brought in from a variety of outside think tanks.

Another civilian replacement about which I was told was that of the long-time Israel/Syria/Lebanon desk, Larry Hanauer. Word was that he was even-handed with Israel, there had been complaints from one of his countries, and as a gesture of good will, David Schenker, fresh from the Washington Institute, was serving as the new Israel/Syria/Lebanon desk.

Oh..good grief....

I read that whole article, SC...

I am shocked there haven't been MORE leaks with the attitude this Karen K. had!!

How can she be SO surprised by what was going on...when CLINTON was the one alerting the world to the DANGER of Saddam Hussein...and got "regime change" through Congress??

I certainly got the impression that one of the her objections was the "regime change" aspect of the NEOCONS...(notice how the word seems to be used as almost a cuss word by her).

Yikes!!

Thanks for posting this.

Personally, I feel this fool should face a firing squad. What part of "we are at war with a ruthless enemy" don't these idiots understand?

I don't know if this will make headline news, but I bet it will get more coverage than the story that Jane Harman, the CA congress woman that he staffed for, is being investigated in connection to the Israeli spy case. Apparently she was leaking information, as well, but not to the NYT.

Should have been done a long time ago. I remember a time when Classified Information was not "Leaked" to uncleared press sources for publication. The leaker should now be charged and prosecuted.

Larry Hanauer comes from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he consulted on a range of intelligence issues for CIA, DIA, NGA and DHS. Previously, Hanauer spent eight years in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he served as an advisor on U.S. security policy in the Middle East, eastern Europe, and Africa. In 2002, he spent a year on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Fellow.

BAH... as in Snowden.
