CINDY WAS in Crawford, trying to flush President Bush out, when a process server found her and handed over the lawsuit that would end her marriage. Casey’s father filed for divorce on August 12, 2005, at 2:47 p.m. Pacific time. He cited irreconcilable differences.
Court papers show that Cindy and Pat separated on June 1, 2005, after twenty-eight years and two months together. Cindy wasn’t surprised when she received the divorce papers.
She had a boyfriend and decided not to reconcile with Pat, even though he wanted to forgive her and fix their relationship.
Pat spoke regularly, almost daily, with his sister, Cherie. He wanted so much to put his family back together again. He told her that Cindy’s grief had turned into panic attacks that forced her to leave a job with Napa County.
At home, she took refuge with a computer that became her companion day and night. “This went on for months,” Cherie recounted. “Cindy had become addicted to online chat rooms of a pornographic nature. She had many men communicating with her. She eventually had physical rendezvous as well.

The Sheehan divorce stretched over months. Cindy and Pat fought over the house and Casey’s death benefits. Pat wanted Cindy to pay for his attorney fees and the costs of the divorce, plus spousal support. Public scrutiny heightened the pain for the couple and their adult children.
Cindy had not told her children about her affair with Lew Rockwell, a married right-winger with a libertarian bent that led him to anarchist views and to despise President Bush.
Cindy regularly contributed to Lew’s Web site and helped him to raise money at a special speaking event. During the one-year anniversary of her protest in Crawford, Texas, Cindy abruptly left the president’s hometown to tell her children about this relationship. She believed news of her affair was leaking to the public, and she feared that her children would hear about her dalliances.
Cindy wanted them to hear the news from her. When she arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area, she confessed everything to her children. Family members reported that Cindy told the children that she wanted to marry Lew, but he refused to leave his wife.
A couple of days later, Cindy returned to Crawford but was hospitalized for a gynecological procedure and dehydration. Her return to Camp Casey didn’t capture the attention of the media as had her initial protest in 2005.
According to family members, the Sheehan family’s deterioration was punctuated by painful evidence of Cindy’s liaisons in hundreds of explicit e-mails and instant messages between Lew and her.

She has turned out to be a typical liberal - everything is focused on HER. It's the same old - me me me me me me me. They don't care if they hurt other people by their actions.
I also know that grief can overwhelm you to the point that you can no longer function. I've watched my neighbor practically disintegrate in grief over the loss of her son in a motorcycle accident. She's never recovered from it. Fortunately, she has a husband who has continued to care for her - although her grief has caused her to develop several very dabilitating illnesses - and now she's bedridden. It's very sad.
Losing my brother-in-law and my mother within a month of each other was devastating .. but I've had a good cry now and then and I'm moving forward. Life did not end.

I used to correspond with "devout Catholic" Lew Rockwell and even attended a few functions that he hosted at the Von Mises Institute. I've met his wife and all I can say is that, while not gorgeous, she is Scarlet Johanssen compared to Cindy Sheehan, who resembles Shaggy from Scooby Doo IMHO.
Leaving beauty aside, the same lack of intellectual judgement that led Karl Hess and Murray Rothbard to embrace the black panthers and the Weather Underground have caused their intellectual descendents to jump in bed (in this case, both literally and figuratively) with both Islamists and the Moveon.org crowd.
