Silver Spring, Md. -- Two environmentalists spent about four hours Monday perched on a ledge over an entrance to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration building to protest what they said is the agency's suppression of information on global warming.
The pair unfurled a banner that read "Bush: Let NOAA Tell the Truth," while a small group of demonstrators handed out fliers on a nearby sidewalk.
Police eventually used a cherry picker from a nearby construction site to reach the demonstrators and lower them to the ground. Both men, Ted Glick, 56, and Paul Burman, 23, were charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and trespassing.

Bumper crop of nutjobs this year. I chalk it up to insufficient spraying in the spring.

"Suppression of information on global warming?" And where are they getting the idea that any such information exists, if it is in fact being "suppressed?"
To: SmithL
I heard that NOAA tracked 27 major hurricanes that hit the mainland of the USA this year. All due to global warming.
Thousands of people were killed, billions in damages, millions of people were without power for months.
President Bush, Rove and NOAA, with help from the right wing main stream media has concealed the facts from the American people.
Those nuts must have found out and were protesting.
That all was just a tad bit of sarcasm.

A cherry picker.
A water cannon probably would have worked better.
But then again, you risk breaking the glass on the building.
I suppose the authorities had to err on the side of caution.

If they DID tell the truth, the media wouldn't believe it because this is a naturally occuring event that has happened thousands of times over.

"Bush: Let NOAA Tell the Truth,"
I have just spoken to the President and he has given me the go ahead to release the information that NOAA has regarding global warming. Here it is......................................................................Global warming is NOT man made! Thank you.

Yes, but just think of the exta CO2 required to bring the cherry picker over.

They were mad because there weren't enough hurricanes?
They'd better talk to Rove.

A common leftist/democrat tactic: Claim that your point of view is being "censored". In fact it is the leftists who possess a penchant for censorship in this country: The democrats are narrow-minded and scared to death of ideas. Trying to portray themselves as "underdogs" is something we've let them get away with far too long.

What were the overnight temps predicted to be? I'll bet the protestors would have been begging for global warming come the wee hours of the morning. Sleet and freezing rain would make it perfect!

Yeah, the claim of censorship thing goes hand-in-hand with the victim/martyr mentality, and is one of the self-inflicted wound tactics that they've been so fond of recently. What it all comes down to is "pay attention to MEEEEEEEE!"
