Chilling testimony Monday in a military courtroom. Petty Officer Cooper Jackson showed no emotion as he matter-of-factly stated he killed Marine Corporal Justin Huff on January 2nd.
Before Jackson entered his guilty pleas, the military judge, Captain Daniel O'toole, dropped the case down so it is no longer a capital case. That means Petty Officer Jackson does not face the death penalty.
Jackson pleaded guilty to murder, kidnapping, impersonating a Naval Criminal Investigative Service Agent, and obstruction of justice.
This all began in December of 2005. Jackson was involved in a telephone relationship with a woman he knew as Samantha from Currituck County. She told him she was raped by a marine and three other people in the beginning of December.
The woman who claimed she'd been raped has since told police she made up the story.

I'm betting there is WAY more to this story. I guess that's evident to anyone, though.
Yes, a female who was an accessory in the instigation of a murder gets to walk away. Or is that not what you meant?
I give up, I wanted to see what a man that would do such a thing looks like, but it seems he is a murderer and a serviceman without a picture, I'm also curious what the woman looks like, and what charges she is facing, in all the stories I looked at on the net I couldn't find a picture of either of them.
I did see a picture of the victim who's throat was slit, he was a square jawed, intelligent looking Marine.
I hate to say this but kind of going by the names and the odd lack of photos I wondering if this was a race-based hate crime and that angle is being downplayed for certain reasons. And yes, she's walking away. Sounds like she set this up.
The absence of photos is troubling, alright.
In the newer thread, there's a link to a news story with videos:
http://www.wavy.com/Global/story.asp?S=5570329&nav=23ii video clip named "Sailor expected to plead guilty to murdering Marine, other charges"
Cooper Jackson, in a photo and a courtroom sketch, looks white.
But with the lack of photos of him online, I was pretty much wondering the same thing.
A couple of threads up there is a new thread on this, where they have a link to a couple of local newscast on the trial.
The news has plenty of pictures of the marine, and some of the huge, fat white woman, but non of the murderer, the court drawings seem to show a white guy but the drawings of his family could be black.
The two plotters had almost 1500 phone conversations in 57 days.
This thing about not showing his picture is weird, and the drawings show a white guy but why not show his picture?
My hunch is those drawings aren't very good.
Maybe I'm paranoid. I just know how the MSM can be, and when there's a gaping hole in the information....
