Nothing in this article says that Muslims should not attack other nations and conquer them and try to convert them to Islam. They just deny that you should be forced to convert. However, there is no statement that it is not pleasing to God to put you to death when conquered and you speak out against Islam or the prophet.

Just take mote that all these scholars really said was:

. . . whenever they conquered a territory, “not to force another’s heart to believe.”

civilians are not approved targets;

religious creed alone cannot make a person the object of an attack;

legitimacy of self-defense and the maintenance of sovereignty remain valid principles.

“We emphatically agree that forcing others to believe – if such a thing be truly possible at all – is not pleasing to God.”
