New York: Girls' room his, too (Transgender men free to use ALL of MTA's loos)

Girls' room his, too

Transgender men free to use ALL of MTA's loos

Helena Stone, formerly Henry McGuinness, stands her ground yesterday outside Grand Central Terminal's ladies' room, which can now be used by transgender men.
The line for the girls' room just got longer.

Men who live as women can now legally use women's rest rooms in New York's transit system under an unprecedented deal revealed yesterday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority agreed to allow riders to use MTA rest rooms "consistent with their gender expression," the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund announced yesterday.

The group filed a complaint against the MTA on behalf of a 70-year-old telephone repair technician who was arrested for using the women's room at Grand Central Terminal.

The technician, who is assigned to the terminal by Verizon, was born Henry McGuinness but now goes by Helena Stone.

"I'm a 24-hour woman," Stone declared proudly. "I just feel like a woman and I like to wear women's clothes."

The MTA would not comment on the settlement but Stone's lawyer said it also includes mandatory transgender sensitivity training for MTA employees and a $2,000 payment to the technician for legal fees.

Michael Sullivan, Stone's lawyer, called the settlement of the complaint with the Human Rights Commission a "milestone" toward recognition of the city law that prohibits discrimination against transgender men and women.

But some Metro-North riders at Grand Central yesterday were stunned by the ruling.

"I would not like that," said Gloria David, a retiree from Connecticut. "I have nothing against gay men or drag queens, but they can use the men's room. I just don't want to go to the bathroom next to a man."

One rider feared predators might dress as women and lurk in the women's room.

But Rena Gantz, 23, a college student, shrugged off the settlement.

"It doesn't bother me because it is a reality," she said. "If they believe they are women, they should be treated as one."

Parse the logic of the statement. Talk about a Alice in Wonderland moment. This student scares me more than some pathetic freak.

Can I hit from the red tees when my feminine side is dominant?

This transgendered guy/gal, he/she, shim/sham has already joined the dykes in spikes tour.

Those 'ladies' don't know what to make of this 'person' especially when the starter asks what kind of ball shim is playing.

It's not a matter of feeling better about myself. I believe women should have the right to know a man is in the restroom. It's a matter of informed consent. Notice I didn't say it was bad, or dangerous, nor did I purport to point out who the person was. In a restroom there is a certain expectation of privacy and often women do or say things to each other they would never do or say in front of a man, regardless of how he is dressed. How is that wrong, especially compared to a man who wants to surreptitiously enter a woman's restroom?

I hope the MTA is sued out of existance.. how long until a little girl or woman is molested or raped in one of their bathrooms now?

Unbelievable.

The difference between the children and the transgender is that the children are not in disguise. One sees a child and acts accordingly.

Whereas men are attracted to anything that vaguely resembles a woman, including lesbians AND men dressed up as women.

So now we can be anything we "believe"?

I don't see your logic.

There is no difference between a man using the ladies room and a man pretending to be a woman using the ladies room. They are both men. There are good reasons why men are not allowed in the ladies room. We're trying to have a society here!

Frankly, it can be anything from primping, to gossip, to adjusting underwear, to language, to discussing "female" problems. Embarrassment varies from person to person and I think women ought to have the right to assume WYSIWYG. Deception is unfair in any situation but especially in an arena where people have a fair expectation of privacy.

I will readily admit that I tremendously disagree with the right of people to force others to adapt to their transgender desires. If transgender dressing (as opposed to operations actually changing the physique) is a compulsion, then it needs to be addressed through serious counseling. If it is not a compulsion, then it is a fetish and needs to be expressed as most others express their fetishes, in the privacy of their homes or other private places. I consider it no more appropriate for a man to dress as a woman at work (or vice versa) than it is for a man or woman to dress in S&M gear at work. There is a place for everything and public isn't the place to dress as the opposite sex, except maybe at Halloween, particularly where it is intended to fool those around them as to their actual gender.

I don't support cowtowing to Muslim demands and I don't suport dhimmitude to transgenders.

"It doesn't bother me because it is a reality," she said. "If they believe they are women, they should be treated as one."

So now we can be anything we "believe"?

The insane and perverted among us have held onto that belief ever since it became possible to surgically manipulate the body of a living human being.  It is possible to cut and slice, rearrange and sew, and so the belief is that 'this makes me a woman!" despite all of the DNA screaming the contrary (or, in the case of some, lisping the contrary).

By this 'logic' I believe that I am incredibly wealthy and so because it is technically possible to electronically transfer funds, I will demand that the State and Federal Governments immediately transfer ten billion dollars into the stoat checking account.

I feel terribly sad for the ladies of New York who will now be even more terrified than usual. of 'their' transit system, and of the unspeakable evil that lurks within.
