America's most fiery conservative talk show host backing liberal Jerry Brown for California's attorney general?

Yes, it's true.

Michael Savage, the nation's third most listened-to radio host (and 4th most influential host according to NewsMax's Top 25 List), confirmed that he recently donated $5,600 -- the maxium allowable -- to Brown's campaign.

Brown won the Democratic Party nod and is facing Republican State Sen. Chuck Poochigian of Fresno, Calif.

"What can I say?," Savage told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?"

Republican Poochigian is currently a State Senator and former assemblyman who has served 12 years in Sacramento.

"You have to make choices in an imperfect world," Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy (sic). I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is."

"Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?"

Savage said he respects Brown's decision to start the Oakland military academy and his experience as a politician, regardless of his very liberal past.

Brown, who had the nickname "Governor Moonbeam," served as California's governor for two terms beginning in 1974. A former Democratic presidential candidate, he ran for mayor of Oakland, Calif. in 1998 and won.

"People change. He changed. He has experience," Savage told the Chronicle. . . . "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs."

As for the conservative Poochigian's campaign, they are not so angry with the Savage defection, bragging that their candidate has the backing of Bo Derek.

The Great Doctor often does these types of things. It is why he is never predictable and always so lovable.

Ok. So you don't like Doc Savage, or at least you don't love him.

I'm good with that.

Have a great day!

LOL. Then what I listen to would cause you to put a fork in your eye I guarantee it!

Prager/Medved are currently the hosts I listen to most often if that gives you a clue. :-D

Hooray for choices!

Michael Savage is ok (for the format he's in) but I must admit that Phil Hendrie was much better.

I knew he was a nut when he blasted Rush Limbaugh for something negative Rush said about John Kerry's intelligence during the 2004 campaign. Savage actually defended Kerry because Kerry had a college education and Rush didn't.

If moonbeam gets in as AG, he might not want to know if Wiener's use of funds from the "Paul Revere Society"were spent illegally in an attempt to finance Wiener's son's effort to win a seat in CA Senate. I will never again listen to his show. The belittling of Senator Poochigian is the cheapest of cheap shots.

I quit listening to that prick a while ago. The final straw was the day Laura Ingraham announced she had breast cancer and that POS came on the air and ranted about how there are no good women in talk radio. I don't think the timing was a coincidence.

Good post,l-s
O'Reilly tried the same stunt on Rush whem Rush was sidelined with the hearing problem. Didn't O'R move his show to noon ET in an attempt to take over the time-slot? O'R is an ankle-biter compared to him!

I can't stand O'R either. His whole style bugs me. He thinks he's an expert on everything but he's just a dumbass.

I've always liked Jerry Doyle when I have had a chance to listen to the show. I cant say I have ever listened to the whole show, but I never flipped the dial on him. I cant say that for Savage who can just get a little frantic at times... His style I guess.
