I have absolutely no problem with using embryos for stem cells, or anything else, for that matter.
I do not believe life begins at conception.
I do believe religeous nutjobs that are obseesed with this, along with terri-the-vegetable (same crowd) turn me off of the republican party more than the excess spending, or even the fence.
Aw gee....the second insulting comment that I've seen coming from a conservative (supposedly) re: the Terri Shiavo episode.
FYI, I am neither a religIous 'nutjob', nor am I obsessed with this OR the Terri Shiavo's state-ordered death by legislation. I am, however, able to discern right from wrong, which is more than I can say for a few here.... apparently. And as I suggested to another "freeper" yesterday...
perhaps the DU would be more to your 'tastes'? They all bash Republicans there AND anyone that doesn't approve of embryonic stem-cell research and the forced death by legislation of Terri, who was falsely labeled a 'vegetable' by a Scientologist leftist DemRat judge.
BTW, calling someone (who is dead now) a 'vegetable' isn't exactly a compassionate viewpoint. But then, you probably already knew that.

Just like abortion and federal funding, why should taxpayer dollars be used on something that many taxpayers do not support ? It has nothing to do with the legality or illegality of ESCR. ESCR is legal; it just can't be funded by taxpayers.
Amendment 2, however, has to do with the legality of human cloning and the use of taxpayer funds for same.
Get it now ?

Ref: religeous nutjobs. We prefer the term "Christian"
