Girls mate young in this blue-collar town outside of Philadelphia

Ummmm... I have no idea what area this woman is talking about. Anything outside of Philly is expensive suburbs until you get halfway to Lancaster, PA.

There are definitely blue collar areas around Philly. Upper Darby comes to mind, but there are others. I live in a suburb of Philly and have lived where it was definitely blue collar (Ardsley). I find this article pathetically and emphatically evil. I raised a daughter by myself and raised her to know that she had choices. That she could--and should--go to college. That getting pregnant was a choice. And that a baby has the right to be born--and the mother has the responsibility to see that he/she is.

There are blue-collar sections in just about all the suburban counties on the Pennsylvania side, especially Delaware County, although I can't see a Philadelphia Magazine editor raising a family in one.

Reading this article, I had the impression she lived in Jersey.

My thought exactly. My own daughter is looking at colleges and for some odd reason, the majority are in the Philadelphia area--in the suburbs, not in the inner city. The suburbs are Philadephia are packed with colleges--and some excellent ones at that!

I'm calling BS on this mother and her so-called "blue collar" area.

At least she didn't use the word "breed" -- but mating isn't much better.
