Some of you are soft on poles? You think they are your allies? Think again:

Council of Europe Anti-Torture Committee publishes report on Poland

Strasbourg, 02.03.2006 - The Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) has published today the report on its third periodic visit to Poland which took place in October 2004. The report has been made public at the Polish authorities’ request.

During the visit, the CPT examined the treatment of persons detained by the police and Border Guard. The report contains recommendations aimed at further strengthening the formal safeguards against ill-treatment offered to such persons and improving the conditions under which they are held.

The CPT also paid visits to three prisons: in Warsaw-Mokotów, Cracow and Wo³ów. It called upon the Polish authorities to redouble their efforts to combat prison overcrowding. Particular attention was also paid to prisoners classified as “dangerous” (“N” status).

The CPT's visit report and the Polish Government's response are available on the Committee's website: http://www.cpt.coe.int.

What do you bet we could find disparaging reports on every group you choose to mention?

I am more pro-Israel. :-)

So am I.

You know that people with emotions on certain issues most often have problems to argue reasonable. That´s the way we are.

As a conservative, government doesn't get smaller than two guys running the galaxy.

What an opportunity to smear the Germans and make them look bad. Why not, remember Schroeder and Fischer after Abu Gharib?

We should start speculating now. Are the Germans loosing control of their military? Was there a cover-up attempt? Is their Bundeswehr low in morale or just poorly trained? Should the head of the MoD resign? Is this a pattern of conduct? How many innocent people have they killed and murdered? There should be an outside nonpartisan investigation! (Sarcasm)

On our side, we will let this pass and fade away. The American on the street does not have the Schadenfreude for the German as they do for us. It’s not us rejecting them, it is they who despise us for ideological reasons and envy primarily.

Besides, the Bush administration will "Rise above this" issue and would not sink to the depths of a Schroeder or Fischer who in reality indignified their offices and their own nation with their low brow comments and behavior. In a few months this issue will be gone, unlike Abu Gharib which 2 years after it occurred still plastered "Der Spiegel" at least once a month and which found itself in Schroeder and Fischer comments over a year later as well.

The beauty of it is that the Emperor IS a Dark Lord of the Sith! Better than the Clintonistas two Presidents for the price of one. With the Sith you get both in one body.

Some people never learn.

Others do. It can not be generalized. It does not matter where you go you will always find some a**holes. Israel and Germany do not differ that much in this aspect.

LOL! I'd love to see Dubya use the Force to shock some sense into the libtards of this country. :)

I'd like one of those little "Apology accepted, Captain Needa" moments for Murtha,Pelosi and Reid; a little "dark side lightning"for the UN and the White House Press Corps, and a couple of light saber lessons [with thrown building parts] for Hillary, Bill, Teddy and Jean-Claude Kerry, myself.
