"It's your vote and you should follow your conscience. Don't let anyone pressure you into going against your own conscience."

Nor should you let anyone talk you into thinking that you can make some kind of "statement" by throwing your vote away on a third party candidate, or worse, by voting for a democrat.

Sometimes our "consciences" don't tell us to do the brightest thing.

Good advice. While you're at it, mention that you should give money to individual candidates - the RNC can and will support RINOs in the primaries vs true conservatives (Toomey in PA, Laffey in RI).

Come on home Republicans, it's us against them. The Primary is the time to dispose of RINO's. Unfortunately, the national Republican party routinely supports incumbents regardless of how odious the person is. Two clear pond scum examples come to mind: Lincoln Chafee and Arlen Specter. Both would have been defeated in the primaries, and deservedly so, if the national party had not come to their rescue. I no longer contribute a penny to the national party as a result. Sadly, when the time comes, I will almost always hold my nose and vote for a miserably worthless RINO Republican rather than an outright pond scum Democrat. But I no longer buy the "do it in the primary" argument. Since Lincoln Chafee does not rise to the minimum standard of "miserably worthless RINO", I would not vote at all rather than vote for Chafee.

I don't like Specter or Chafee either, nor do I like the RNC's practice of supporting the incumbent, "no matter what", and as a result, like you, I never donate to the RNC. I'm with you on all of that. But I will still vote for Chafee, Specter, McCain, or any RINO over the competing Demonkat rather than sit it out and help elect the Demonkat. That's called "cutting off your nose to spite your face". I instead donate to campaigns of real conservative Republicans in the primaries, even those in districts I don't live and vote in. If more of us do that, and less donate to the RNC, then we can get them to change their practice of supporting RINO incumbents.

The way to change the practices in the party we don't like is from within, not by helping elect Dummiecrats. RINOs will vote with us part of the time. Democrats will NEVER vote with us.

".......current democrat party has ceased to be an american political party....."

they have become an internationalist leftist movement that has only contempt for american values. they are truly akin to an anti-american insurgency.

I am not an activist for or contributor to spendthrifts.

I may vote Republican, but it will take actual conservatism to reactivate me or open my wallet.

Good remarks!

A Democrat victory is a Leftward Media victory.

Lesson learned will be Leftward wins!

Republicans move Left.

A Repulbican victory is a Leftward Media loss.

Lesson learned will be Rightward wins!

Republicans move Right.

Only if you support open immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

I'll be voting straight GOP.

The current Democratic party has become the stronghold of degenerate traitors. I refuse to live in a nation such as Democrats envision.
There are worse reasons to fight, than to prevent Democrats turning this country into a Socialist/Islamofascist hell.
If ballots will not do the job, bullets will.
God forbid, but if the day comes, so be it.

Yeah...

That worked really well in 2004, didn't it?

Our Republican congresscritters, after seeing America vote more Republican, leaned more rightwards...

A bunch of libertarian posts indicate the platform is
Get out of Iraq

I'm for winning in Iraq, consequently I am furious at the POTUS for not doing so!

Legalize drugs

The drug war has been an abysmal failure!

Legalize abortions on demand

There is a point of no return in pregnancy...somewhere around the 13th month!

Open borders

Absolutely not! ...and not for the president's amesty program either.

Basically, we libertarians want Christian conservative Republicans out of our bedrooms, liberal Democrats out of our wallets AND BOTH OF YOU OUT OF OUR CONSTITUTION! (i.e. Democratic gun control measures, GOP Terri Shiavo keep alive efforts, etc.)

The media was not nearly as biased in 2004 as it is today. In fact most of the time it quoted polls showing Bush leading.

This time it is much different. The media in 2004 attributed negative stories about Republicans and George Bush to Democrats. This year they are just stating them as absolute facts.

There were few if any stories that said the Democrats were going to win the house and the senate in 2004. This time every newscast has a story about Democrats wining anywhere from 25 to 48 seats in the house.

If you can't see the difference between this years election and the 2004 race then you are not watching TV.

IN fact in 2004 Dan Rather was caught running untruthful stories. We caught him on Free Republic but the rest of the media except CBS picked it up and covered what Rather had done.

This year they are not covering things like Reid making a million dollars on land he did not own. There is a huge difference and you apparently are unable to see it.

Which only proves that the media is very effective at fooling those on the right. They claim they can.. and you prove they have that power.

So if the Democrats win the election, both parties will move to the left. The primary reason most elected Republicans are doing the leftist thing is they are convinced that the only way to win is to try to please the media. So they are trying to please the media.

I suppose I have more faith in our Republic and its citizenry in that I really believe most of the people think as I do: That if you smoke cigarettes or marijuana you're a fool but you don't need government prohibiting you to make a fool of yourself.
That a young girl can make a mistake in the heat of passion with her boyfriend but she can't try to right it after 100 days of pregnancy.
That churches and synagogs do play an important part of our history and too bad if someone puts up a menorah or manger scene on public property during the holidays.
That if two gay guys or two lesbians want to live together it's none of our business, but don't call it marriage
That the Americans with Disabilities Act was really stupid in places like post offices which had a back door ramp but not a front-door one.
That America's marketplace comes first in being the determinator of all things economic and, therefore, we didn't need NAFTA or CAFTA...more if you're interested in my version of libertarianism.

I VOTED FOR PEROT AND ELECTED THE CLINTONS DOING THAT!!!! And have hated my guts for it ever since.

Yep, I did the same thing. Never again, no matter how disgusted I get. Vote the Rinos out in the primaries, vote all R during the main elections, my motto since then.

What does all that have to do with my post?

After the 2004 elections were tallied, more Republicans were put into power.

Yet, politics did not move more towards the right.

(If it had, we wouldn't have to worry so much about THIS election... for Conservatives would be quite happy right now.)

---

The main problem is that when Republicans try to act like liberals while in government, conservatives don't like it. Then they stay home or vote third-party.

It's really not that hard of a lesson.

Republicans MUST act conservative to win elections.

Conservative in such issues as:

Immigration
Oil Drilling
Foreign Policy
Economy
Limited Government

So far, the only conservative area the Republicans can claim is the economy.

We surely didn't see any progress from the Republican party on immigration, oil drilling, or limited government. (We did finally get a small portion of the border fenced, but only after Conservatives fought tooth and nail against the wishes of the Republican party.)

And our foreign policy is a friggin' joke.

Lil' Kimmie and Iran now know that we won't do a dang thing to stop them.

And we're backstabbing Israel as fast as can be. Condi Rice has a great track record of supporting HAMAS and demanding Israeli concessions (read that as deaths).

Not to mention Venezuela.

---

And yes, Demoncr@ps are worse.

But running a campaign in which your only slogan is "Vote for me, because I'm not my opponent!" doesn't work that well.

Bob Dole tried that tack against the Clintoon in 1996... and it didn't work then.

What makes so many think it'll work now?

Did you have an opportunity to vote for change in the primary? If so, did you? That is the time to make changes.

"Angry Conservatives Coming Home "

Good.

As one Freeper that's taken heat as a "border troll", I've always said
that in Nov (barring something INCREDIBLE), I'd hold my nose and
vote Republican.

The alternative is just too Gawd-aweful to contemplate.

I understand wanting to "send a message" to some of the rascals in
the Republican party...but letting the Dems get control is like signing
a death warrant for things like security of the country.
(even if Dubya has bungled some aspects).
Five years post 9-11 without a Jihadi attack?
Time to extend the contract.
