We can't even excerpt from a Gannett paper, so here's a link to the story in the Tennessean: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061025/NEWS0206/610250422

I guess I don't see the problem with a man going to a Playboy party of some kind. What man here has not read Playboy magazine?

I'd rather he went there than to some bath house somewhere.

Key passage:

"I was there," the Memphis Democrat said. "I like football, and I like girls. I don't have … no apologies for that."

Ford has not been as direct when the topic has come up before. He told George Stephanopoulos on an ABC Sunday morning talk show earlier this month that he had never been to a Playboy mansion party.

I don't know. That seems pretty direct to me. It's just that he was lying.

What about the fact that he lied about it, though?

What man here has not read Playboy magazine?

That is a trick question, right?

I love how Ford the liar tried to play us for fools by saying "I've never been to the Playboy Mansion" in denying the charge. Well no one accused you of being at the Playboy Mansion. You were at a Playboy party in Atlanta, that's what you're accused of. Harold, you're not clever by half so spare us the deceit and equivocation, especially such a see-through and artless one like that.

The GeoCities web site you were trying to view has temporarily exceeded its data transfer limit. Please try again later.

Yeah .. except he's not honest and he's not a lawyer .. but other than that you were spot on.

I just read it for the liberal bullshit articles. Oh, what the heck--I just like to look at the pictures.

He was parsing, not lying. The party he attended was NOT at the Playboy mansion. Its as bad as lying, though.

Curious, is there a law about claiming to be a lawyer when you aren't similar to laws against impersonating doctors or public officials?

It was a Clinton-style truth. He never has been to Playboy Mansion party...but he's been to other Playboy parties.

I don't see the problem either.

So why did Harold dissemble about it?
