Venezuela Refuses Visas to Israelis
Israel National News ^ | October 25, 2006

Posted on 10/25/2006 5:31:30 PM PDT by Ooh-Ah

(IsraelNN.com) Venezuela, which recently has forged closer ties with Iran, has announced it no longer will issue visas to Israeli tourists. A Venezuelan official insisted the cessation of allowing visits was a technical problem and that they would be resumed after a top diplomat returns to Israel. He has been absent for more than two months and there is no indication if and when he will return.

A sign of President Hugo Chavez's increasingly anti-Israel sentiments was his recent accusation that Israel was guilty of genocide in the retaliation against Hizbullah terrorists last summer.

Venezuela Refuses Visas to Israelis

Chavez has turned Venezuela into a cesspool. Israeli's aren't missing out on anything. Chavez is doing them a favor.

I can't imagine why any Israeli would want to visit Venesuela anyway.

Watch the tourist count plunge. Sometimes governments just HAVE to show tolerance.

I'd be curious as to how many Israelis are Venezuelan turistas. Half a dozen a year?

I figure they would be trying to sell some sort of weapons system.

My concern is Guyana. They share the border with Venezula. I was considering taking a trip there but I'm not sure though.

Why? He's killing himself already (as a legitimate voice for Latin America). The push for a Simon Bolivar redux may be buried with him. Let the circus continue, for now at least.

Guyana? For Pete's sake why?

Unless you have family or pressing business there is no reason to go there (yes, I've been - business). There are dozens of better destinations in the basin.

ON THE NET...

INTERNET-HAGANAH.com: "UN SACRIFICIO POR LA CAUSA DE ALLAH" (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Since we first reported on Hizballah's Latin American offspring, it appeared to be a strictly Venezuelan phenomenon. Since then, however, new shoots have sprung up in El Salvador and in Chiapas in southern Mexico. To say that these folks are not "real Hizballah" is true to a point. We are used to thinking of Hizballah as a strictly-controlled entity of Lebanese origin operating at the behest of the Iranian regime. It is possible that no one is more surprised than Hizballah Lebanon to learn that they have given rise to Latin American affiliates, but they have. If there is one thing Iran and Hizballah could use right now, it's operatives who are not Iranian, not Lebanese, not obviously Arab or Persian - people who are more likely to be able to travel below the radar. Guys like this (sans the bomb - we're sure the Revolutionary Guards can hook the brother up with something more effective when he gets to his final destination): There is no reason to think anything good will come from all this.")
