Ever since Oliver Cromwell took Bonnie Prince Charlie's head way back when, Britain's royal family has strictly been for entertainment value. These people aren't in positions of authority - they are merely glorified entertainers.

Charles is an inbred pink-eyed booger eating moron.

Just scrap the monarch altogether, then. At least, take the status of 'Supreme Governor of the Church of England' from him.

If we had won the battle of Stamford Bridge, the rightful king might have been Eric Bloodaxe :-)

Prince Charles wants to be crowned King in a multi-faith coronation service in a dramatic break with tradition, it is claimed.
To: Eurotwit
I've never understood the attraction of monarchy. Let a family, and all its descendents rule over you and worship them with a reverence that should be reserved for God alone. The monarchy is an evil institution.
Read what Thomas Paine said about the monarchy in 1776 in Common Sense.

It has always declined to discuss Prince Charles's coronation plans while the Queen is alive. If this is true, apparently not.

When one immigrates one must assimilate!
That means choosing to celebrate the traditions of your new home country, not changing those traditions to suit your whatevers.
It means you are British, not --British.
Prince Charles is very wrong in changing the ascension to the crown.

Ever since Oliver Cromwell took Bonnie Prince Charlie's head way back when, Interested how Cromwell did that head taking ? Cromwell died in 1658 . Bonnie Charlie was born in 1720 . And died in Italy.

Charles will be like Edward VIII, he either will never be king or he will abdicate in favor of William.
Charles will wind up like the Duke of Windsor, increasingly irrelevant to the world scene.

I follow this with some interest, since Prince Charles and I are the same age, and my mother was the same age as the Queen. My mother was always interested in the goings on of the British royalty, and I retain an interest, although I must admit it is increasingly like watching a train wreck.
I haven't seen the movie "The Queen" but I am beginning to wonder if this isn't a PR effort to get the Queen to abdicate and let Charles take the throne. I wouldln't put it past the Charles faction.
I imagine WIlliam will be an unconventional king as well, having been brought up by his mother through his formative years.
It's a shame Harry can't be king. I kind of root for him, and Prince Hal remains a favorite historical figure of mine.

But how do we know William is going to be any better than Charles? Is there some evidence?
By the way, I can't wait for a Jewish coronation!

why the heck is chuck flapping his lips about this while his mum is still alive? VERY bad taste!
