Right, he said that too much medication made him twitch.

Managing meds is a continual balancing act with Parkinson's. At Fox's stage of the disease (18 or more years in) taking a larger dose of Sinemet probably causes twitches and head bobbing. Taking less means that he may freeze in place and have other symptoms including falls, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty talking.

I dislike these misleading ads but many of the comments on these threads about Fox's condition are gratuitous and contrary to fact.

Yup - there is an amazing lack of knowledge about Parkinson's here, given the number of experts we seem to have! : ) The main one being the one you mentioned - that all he has to do is take medication and he will be basically normal. I'm guessing none of the people who proposed that know a Parkinson's sufferer.

As accurate as Rush's statements about the ad were, he overplayed his hand by insinuating Fox was acting. The point was the dems and McCaskill using a Parkinson's sufferer to misrepresent the cloning and embryonic stem cell argument. I think Rush wanted to make sure his statements got picked up by MSM and that's why he attacked Fox. To illustrate the point. Overdoing it however, served to obscure the real point in voter's minds.
