The disillusionment comes from the fact that African-Americans are the most loyal Dem constituency, yet the white hierarachy that runs the party generally shuts them out from running for statewide office. Maryland is a prime example.
The reality is that it is the Democrat party that is run like a plantation.

They scream the GOP is the party of racism but how interesting is it that 2 of the 3 black Americans running for governorships this year are Republicans?? And of only 2 blacks running for the Senate, one is a conservative Republican running in a heavily Democrat state. The other is a left wing Democrat who is trying to sound like a Republican.
I don't think Ken Blackwell is going to win. But I would give anything to see Mike Steele win in MD. He will become a national figure and put Oslama Banana to shame.

I predict that Steele wins MD senate, directly as a result of that phenomenon.

Well, I didn't read the story, but I personally know a couple of blue collar black couples who are fed up with the democrat's stand on immigration. They are worried that low and lower middle income jobs are being stolen from them.
Is that angle being covered anywhere?
