That ad is aimed at Democratic women.
I know who it was aimed at, that's why I called the advertisement cynical. It may do what it is meant to do. But once you start pushing the "Oh, you are thinking like 1806" as if styles, philosophies and ideologies can only improve over time, you open yourself to attack whenevr someone introduces a new and bad idea.
And psychological differences between men and women are one of many reasons that women shuld not be allowed in military combat. I hope no one thinks of Senator Allen whether women should be in combat roles. After he states no, he will have to give a reason.
The ad should do what it is meant to do. I am not against negative ads, but I don't like Republicans playing that Howard Dean game of pretending we are something we aren't (namely, feminists).

I don't think for one nanosecond that anyone thinks the Republicans are trying to appear as feminists. On the other hand, a Democrat woman who was leaning toward Webb is likely quite pissed off right now, and will not like what she sees on that commercial. All we need to do is dislodge a few thousand Democratic women.
