[Dixie Chicks' movie totally tanks. Death of a PRez movie also. Found the article on Drudge, original posted here.]
Newmarket's very controversial Death of a President (91 theaters) did only $.06 mil Friday with a pathetic per screen average of $673 for should be a $0.21 weekend. The Weinstein Company's Dixie Chicks documentary Shut Up & Sing (4 theaters) took in $0.01 mil Friday and a disappointing $2,867 per screen average for what should be a $.04 mil weekend. "

tough luck liberal scum! The chicks just dont get it!
These films have gotten millions of free advertising and hype from the MSM. They should be number one and two unless they really suck.
What? Oh.
Saw III also seems more intellectually stimulating than those two.
Because nobody wants to have to see ugly fat Natalie whine like a five year old about how people should be forced to like her.
So a couple of TV stations didn't run ads. Big deal. If anyone actually wanted to see these moronic POS movies, they'd go, even if a couple of stations didn't run ads. The looney left has to blame these flops on someone, so they blame it on Big TV. Hysterical.
I have to get around to watching the Saw franchise. Heard it was good.
She's not good enough, she's not smart enough, and doggone it, people just don't like her!
The Dixie Chicks thing is so absurd...people won't pay to hear them sing...so why pay to hear them curse, basically?
Dear Nat,
"Shut Up and Sing" would be much more effective if you'd actually shut up and sing.
ez
There's another reason they are not #1 & #2: The MSM---which gave these two films millions in free advertising and hype---has very little influence over us.
I saw a clip and the other two girls apparently really wanted her to apologize...you could tell. Natalie is like a five year old child...she dug her heels in, was intent on making her point and she thougth people would respect her. Somehow, I'd make a nice big bet that she had people whispering in her ear early on not to play nice, and that they'd be taken care of. People like Bruce Springsteen, et al. I think he convinced her that his people would be their people. NOPE, not how it works.
I "saw" the first of the series. No more. The ending was incredibly stupid -- illogical and a cheat.
It's clear that what the public wants are more family-oriented, Christian-themed films like "Saw III."
Saw the Chick's promo at the movies.
Geez...don't these whinging women understand that of course, you have the right to speak and bash whomever you want, but you don't have the right to think that you won't be bashed back.
Natalie Manes' comment from the foreign stage about Bush was nothing more than being a sniveling little toady to a foreign audience.
As a side note, I've seen "Death of a President" via British TV. It wasn't what I expected it to be like, actually - in that it was largely fair - even if it had a typically "Law & Orderish" twist ending.
It was also, I'd say, really, really well made. In that, I was impressed.
Moonbats who see the movie are going to be disappointed.
