Tchula is also home to Saul Haymond, Sr., a sharecropper who won a Guggenheim Fellowship for his primitive painting in 1995. His work is beautiful. I believe he still is a sharecropper.
That is fascianting. I will have to check out the towns cemtetary. I was in Vicksburg a couple of weeks ago. I took time out to go the Military Park. Right beside it there is a JEwish Cemtetary I never knew existed. Its a shame that deep South Jewery is about dead.
