John Kerry has never hidden his contempt for the armed forces very well, not even when he served as an officer in the Navy. Yesterday the mask slipped a little bit, as John Ziegler at KFI notes on his website, and Allahpundit mirrors at Hot Air. At a political rally for California's Democratic challenger to Arnold Schwarzenegger for governor, Phil Angelides, Kerry told the Pasadena City College crowd to study hard and get an education -- or wind up like the losers in the military:
You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you dont, you get stuck in Iraq. Wow. Just wow. It's worth recalling that Kerry at one time aspired to command these same men and women from the White House, and claims to still want to lead them. How would these people react to taking orders from a Commander-in-Chief who believes them to be uneducated, lazy losers?
We'll see if Kerry's peers in the Democratic Party support Kerry's description of our fighting men and women. If Democrats that have had John Kerry campaign on their behalf refuse to address Kerry's remarks or openly supports their characterization, it will expose the hypocrisy and the contempt that the Left has for the military. All of the talk of "supporting the troops" will be revealed as lip service.
Will Ned Lamont repudiate Kerry's words? Will Bob Casey, Jr dispute his mentor's characterization of our military as a junkyard for goldbricking idiots? Will Benjamin Cardin affirm that soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines don't have what it takes to succeed in life? Here in Minnesota, does Amy Klobuchar agree with Kerry's analysis? Regards, Ivan
Rove made him say it.
What an insulting, anti-American,ungrateful jackass.
Many, many people have felt the loss of someone in Iraq.
A fine young man who grew up down the read from us was killed when his blackhawk was shot down. I used to babysit him. He was my brother's best friend.
Far from stupid, he was a graduate of West Point. He was highly intelligent, inquisitive, curious, with a real passion for life, love of God, his family and his country.
John Kerry can go to hell.

Bill Bennett's callers have been clobbering Kerry.
Marines, Soldiers, Mothers of Son's planning to enter the service.
Note that Kerry has insulted the sons and daughters fighting in Iraq, and their Parents also vote.
"What an insulting, anti-American,ungrateful jackass."
Right.
Especially considering that this clown parlayed his 'service' into national media attention for himself and his own personal agenda. He even wore his fatigues while bashing the military, once he was home.
This is NOT a man!
Alas, we just pray for our heroes and condemn such hateful rhetoric.
Impugning the patriotism of our heroes just comes naturally do most dems.
I suppose the really smart ones marry some drunk rich bitch and live off their money.
The buffoonery of this empty suit is astonishing.
"a fine young man who grew up down the road from us was killed when his blackhawk was shot down."
(probably had a heart the size of the grand canyon....)
John Kerry: Dumb as a rock and proud as a peacock.
John Kerry...what a pathetic, unpatriotic, hubris-consumed,miserable, stupid jerk!!!
May both my senators drop dead.
Well, John, you just wrote a campaign ad for your next opponent. Thanks; that saved us Republicans some money.
We really know what the jerk was trying to say, but geesh...this from a man wanting to be President of the United States?
INCONCEIVABLE!! ;^)
Yes, I have always been impressed that Senator Kerry is not really very smart. In spite of the claims President Bush lacked intellectual ability he proved to be able to not only get an MBA but a career apart from politics. Senator Kerry was a mediocre law student who avoided the law by entering politics.
Not so with Kerry. He has been a career politician from the getgo and if he were not mentored by Kennedy and in an overwhelming liberal state, he would not have that as an option either.
In short, this is a "dumb" remark by a "dumb" man. I hope the DU and Kosites are happy with him.
Bump for The Defective One--Jon Fn Kerri....
Ooops. That won't help Webb in VA.
Allen should use Kerry's quote as a club.
And dumb Americans are about to vote him and his party into power.
John...I have a BS & MS and I've chosen to wear this uniform. And, I'm damned proud of it!
Phil Angelides is 18 points down and with friends like this, he won't move up with this.
This proves the Swift Boat Vets for Truth were right all along.
Thank you John F'n Kerry for that October surprise.
Why do I get the notion that if instead of running a boat aground every other day, if Kerry had taken delta wing pilot training, he would of become a long forgotten smudge mark?
Kerry is only reflecting the views of many Democrats. Although I must give Kerry his due. He knows a lot about losing. Hopefully, the Republicans will pick up on this pronto, and get it widespread. Maybe even President Bush or Tony Snow can find time to say "Many who heard the comment may find it repugnant."
Kerry's condescending arrogance bubbles to the top.
What a gold plated phony ! I can't wait to hear his excuse on this one.
My dad was career Air Force and a Vietnam vet. He has a PhD in Economics and has taught at such Universities as Johns Hopkins, Penn State and the Air Force Academy. He received his Masters and Doctorate degrees while in the military.
He is also a life long democrat but refused to vote for Kerry in 2004.
Please tell me you emailed that audio to Rush, Hannity, FNC and Karl Rove. John Effin' Kerry just admitted what the RATS really think of our military.
Packaged & sent to my mailing list. Photo, sound clip & all.
The really stupid people are the ones in Taxachutesetts that keep voting for this creep.
Why is this man still talking? Isn't he done?
I just got banned (at least I think I am, they haven't said anything but I can't post) from the gasbuddy.com forums for bringing up the POW lawsuit against Kerry. Evidently, Kerry and Chavez are sacred cows over there.
Yes, if our boys were 'smart' as you were in Vietnam Mr. Kerry, they'd have figured out that 3 Purple Hearts equals a ticket home, and that being an officer enables you to write up your own purple heart citations. Come to think of it Mr. Kerry, I am grateful to God that our troops aren't as "smart" as you were, because they'd all be conniving cowards and there would be no America.
The creep.
Is there any other person on the face of the earth who deserves our unrelenting hatred more than this sorry no good turncoat piece of manure?
And it's a great show.
I'm certain that he would still have found a way to go home early and condemn his buddies in combat, he's that kinda guy.
save
The guy who is always yammering about being "tough and smart" doesn't sound like either. What a dunderhead.
Once again, Kerry has shot himself in the ass.
The man needs a good "Patton slap".
Nevertheless...a very stupid and unthoughtful thing to say as a former and possible future candidate.
