The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it.

I was in Afghanistan in November 2004, watching the election results with a large group of troops who were thrilled with the re-election of President George Bush. The thought of a "President Kerry" was a nauseating concept to most everyone over there, especially the officers (oh, who happened to have a college education, as well as a number of the enlisted....)

Newsflash for Cheri: he may have had buyers' remorse about the war for political reasons. The rest of us still support it because our country's cause is just and America is in this fight to win!
