This DOES keep the Spotlight on Kerry, AND it allows the President to be Presidential, defending the honor of the United States Military. Slapping the village idiot around doesn't make you look big or noble, it just makes the idiot look more important than he really is. And any time the President gets involved in anything it directs some of the light on him just because of his office. And I think that more than a few Americans are feeling the need to defend the honor of the military, and that might be reflected at the voting booth.
