"The GOP should just SHUT UP......and let this thing take its own course."
I agree. Enough has been said now. Move on.
Remind people why to vote for Republicans.
Kerry just reminded them what liberalism/democrats are all about.

Jf'n cancelled all his Wednesday appointments .. and one IA Dem candidate in a tight race uninvited him, suggesting his comments were "inappropriate" ... guess that candidate missed the punchine, too.

Personally, I hope the RATS and the MSM rally around kerry and defend him to the death. (Specifically, the death of their treasonous, lying party)
To: A Citizen Reporter
That's a better suggestion. Force the issue. Make them take a stand.

The dems are DEAD on this issue, if the Republicans give it even a little effort.I agree--the call in itself makes news, and when few or none of the Dems respond, the Republicans can bring it up again.

Oh this is too darn good...finally...God hands over the victory while Kerry & Co. fall on their own swords...this is just so rich!
God be praised!

I agree. The GOP needs to pound this for at least another news cycle. They need to force all the Dem candidates in contested races to state their position.
Individual Freepers should also be burning up the phone lines to their Dem candidate up for election, asking them to take a stand against Kerry. Like another Freeper said, this puts the Dems between a rock and a hard place. If they stand up for the troops, they lose the moonbat vote. If they don't, they lose the moderate Dem vote. Split the Dem vote and you've got a perfect recipe for the Pubbie to win.

The GOP should just SHUT UP......and let this thing take its own course.I would normally tend to agree, but the Dems were trying very hard to say nothing in hopes this would just fade away. If the GOP forces them to address the issue, that's two or three more news cycles that the Dems are playing defense over Flipper's comments - and there are only six news cycles left until the election.

Agreed. Stay on offense, b/c the MSM will deliberately try to bury the story - their effort is well underway.
BTW, I heard that Kerry just released another asinine "non-apology" -- can anyone confirm?

Exactly. AND the question should be along these lines: "Do you believe that members of the military fighting in Iraq are only there because they lack the education to get a better job?"
The question many are TRYING to answer is "do you believe John Kerry was intending to insult the troops or George W Bush?"
Whether Kerry's "joke" was "botched" or not is irrelevant. The fact is that MANY DEMOCRAT SUPPORTERS had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM with the "joke" the way it was told the first time. The "botched joke" was received with laughter, applause and cheers.
Many people defending Kerry are doing so on the basis that people in the military are only there because they lack the ability to be somewhere else. Nobody would have EVER suggested that in World War II, even among conscripts. The idea that Iraq is the central front in the War On Terror and that the troops in Iraq are putting their lives on the line to protect the liberty and security of the entire world is laughed at mocked and impugned by nearly EVERYONE in the Democrat party. The staunchest Dem supporters of the idea were Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller.
Dems should welcome this chance to clarify their position with open arms. For years they've been telling us that Iraq is a losing issue for the Republicans and a winning issue for them. So let's see it, Dems. Six days out. Tell us what you REALLY THINK about the people who are fighting in Iraq. Do you FIRMLY BELIEVE that the people who are there are only there because they didn't study hard and marry a ketchup heiress?
