The only thing I wish we had here in Texas that's never going to be is a nice rocky piece of (sea) shoreline !
Well, one possibility might be:
Kalaloch Lodge - Olympic National Park, lodging on the ocean
(actually, the ocean beach right next to the lodge is rather sandy....it gets a bit more rocky further to the south but this is a nice base from which to explore, and the air is very refreshing)
or at most any of the Bed and Breakfast houses in San Juan County...the San Juan Islands have almost exclusively rocky beaches although they aren't on the ocean, per se.. The ocean beaches down in Oregon are even more dramatic in terms of rock formations but they also have quite a bit more tourist traffic in the high seasons.
This way you can retain your sanity, be proud of the State in which you live, yet enjoy some nice ocean beaches as well :-)
Last time I looked we have shoreline from the Mexican border to the Louisiana border...but of course it's not the Pacific ocean where you can freeze your a$$ of the 4th of July!!
