***Media Advisory*** Santorum to Hold News Conference Tonight to Respond to Bob Casey Defending John Kerry |
|
|
At a news conference tonight, U.S. Senator Rick Santorum will join veterans to denounce John Kerry's recent comments regarding our soldiers in Iraq. Senator Santorum will also comment on Bob Casey's endorsement of John Kerry's comments in today's Philadelphia Inquirer: "From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word. He served in combat. Last time I checked, the president and the vice president did not. The White House and the Santorum forces should get to work on dealing with the real problems in Iraq. The first thing they should do is fire Mr. Rumsfeld instead of spending a lot of time trashing Democrats." (Jennifer Loven, "'04 foes exchange fire anew on troops, war, education," The Associated Press via The Philadelphia Inquirer, November 1, 2006) John Kerry was scheduled to join Bob Casey Jr. for a fundraising event tonight at the Public House in Philadelphia but opted to cancel in light of his recent comments.
Who: Senator Rick Santorum Sgt. Michael Sarro, Iraq war veteran
James Warner, U.S. Marine and POW with Senator John McCain Ron Ziegler, Jewish Veteran of Vietnam war veteran What: News conference Where: Embassy Suites Fairmount Room 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway Philadelphia, PA 19103 When: Wednesday, November 1, 2006 5:30 pm Press should be in place at 5:15 pm. |

Now that's called rubbing salt into wounds...boy have these people miscalculated the love we have for our military today. This is not 1967 when the military was mud thanks to Kerry...it's almost 2007...and they are our heroes!
Let's do the Time Warp again should be the DNC's commercial jingle!

You gotta love it! Casey comes out in support of John Kerry and his statement. A short while later, Kerry apologizes (sort of) for saying it. BWAAHAAHAA
The only ones on record now for supporting his statement are Bob Casey and Howard Dean. ROFLMAO !

Since when does military service matter to democrats?
They knocked Dan Quayle for serving in the National Guard,,,,they knocked George Bush for serving in the National Guard,,,while their hero, the draft-dodging Bill Clinton was protesting against our country overseas!!!
If it was for double standards, democrats would have NONE!

I just saw a clip of it on Fox News. He really nailed him IMHO.
Roughly said something along the lines of Bob Casey saying he only made a joke and Santorum said "you don't make jokes about people who are fighting & dying".

I wish I could have helped you with this, "casino66". But I couldn't find it myself. I was, needless to say, upset!!
All I can suggest now is to watch FOX all night. They might at least address it!

Again, you're so right on! Did you hear Glenn Beck on CNN tonight? He's on again at 9:00 p.m. He is terrific on this! He is conservative and he had Senator Santorum on Monday night. It was great. But please try to watch this program tonight!

Glenn Beck was great tonight. He clearly expressed how indignant ordinary Americans are about the Kerry insult to the troops.
Kerry issued another non-apology apology, but the damage to Democratic candidates is done.
I hope every vet in Pennsylvania knows about the low esteem in which Democrats hold our military, as evidenced by the hate speech of John Kerry.
