Gee, it only took what 2 days? Real leadership material.
He was against the apology before he was for it.
I apologize to anyone who was offended is a non-apology. He should just apologize, retract, and most of all repudiate his remarks, but he cannot with his lack of character, lack of honesty, lack of courage.
Anyone who has got to be dragged kicking and screaming into a press room to make an apology does not really mean it.
"Say it! SAY IT! SAY IT! Say you're a CODFISH!"
"I'm a codfish."
Good, now resign.
CNN is not reporting his non apology correctly...More smoke and mirrors by the DBM!!
This is not good enough. He is not man enough to do this on tv where most people can see it. Instead, he has to issue a written statement that someone else probably wrote? Please...
Well whatever Wolfie says.
"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended," he said in a written statement.
"As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: My poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and [was] never intended to refer to any troop," he said.
In the statement, the four-term senator continued to assert that the GOP was using the gaffe to distract voters from its own shortcomings.
"It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy," he said. "I don't want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops."
He sold out his "principles" for a few votes -- it's the dem way...
This ought to be good...can't wait to see this next version of his "apology".
Kerry is a dead man walking.
Yesterday it was "I Don't Owe Anyone An Apology"! Looks like the Dems sent out a squad with baseball bats and offered him a choice of apologizing or losing his kneecaps???
