MSNBC ^ | November 2, 2006 | Richard Engel

Posted on 11/02/2006 7:32:14 AM PST by Tirian

The linked page (entitled "Kerry apologizes to troops after ‘botched joke’") has a link to a video report with the reassuring title "Kerry remarks not on troops' radar".

On the video, serious faced reporter Engel wants us all to know that the troops didn't even mention the Kerry gaffe during a busy day at work ...

My letter to the MSNBC editor: I found the video title "Kerry remarks not on troops' radar" to be laughable in view of your failure to post the now-world famous HALP US JON CARY photo, which seems to indicate that the Senator's "gaffe" is indeed on the troops radar. Your reporting is incredible (in the old sense of the word: not worthy of credence).

I hope you sent them a nice, big, juicy file of the picture. They think if we don't hear it from them, we won't know about it and it didn't happen.

Yep my boss saw on the news last night. But I had sent out an office email with the pic the day before. Freeping is awesome, I get the news at least 24 hours before everyone else does.

Even children should be taught that saying, "I'm sorry if you 'misinterpreted' what I said," is not an apology!

Kerry's elitist arrogance is unbounded, it seems.

He had his chance to apologize! He didn't!

Instead, he defiantly argued that his intended target was the Commander in Chief, claiming that he intended to "joke" that if these young people didn't study and achieve scholastically, then they, too, might one day become President and get America "stuck in Iraq."

How stupid is that?

Such a lame excuse reveals an even more hollow head, accompanied by extreme arrogance!

I saw Perky Katie's take on it last night. She brushed aside the "stuck in Iraq" story with Kerry's excuse and then went to a CBS manufactured poll which showed the Republican in worse trouble than any previous poll indicated, blah, blah, blah.

Typical - Kerry shoots himself in the foot and MSNBC wants to give him another Purple Heart (for a self-inflicted wound).

John Kerry, 1972..."An all volunteer army would be an army of illiterate and black and brown."

Trying to appeal to the black and Latin groups, Kerry insults both. Would it mean that blacks and browns are presupposed they are illiterate? No that is not insulting, is it Mr.Kerry?

Mr. Kerry, I am a conservative. To the man or woman, black, brown, or white I am proud of each one of our military people. They comport themselves with dignity every time I see them interviewed on television. I cannot say the same for you.
