There should be a web site just like freerepublic, but devoted to following what happens to violent criminals like this one. I bet the justice system could be influenced if these individuals were followed and kept a record of.

"Dear Sirs:

I want to express my outrage that you released the above named killer, who had been sentenced to 3 life terms, after just 26 years, and over the strong objections of the victim's family. I understand that he has now been arrested in Indiana for the murder of a 16 year old girl, just months after you released him.

It is this kind of incident, which is becoming all too common, that has brought our criminal justice system into disrepute. I really don't see how anyone can trust the authorities anymore.

It should have been a no-brainer to deny that man's parole. How you could arrive at this insane result is beyond me.

Sincerely,"

"Compared to being a dishwasher it's an easy life for an old man. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened."

Sorry to disagree with your assumptions. This POS could have gone back to prison for a thousand different criminal acts. He chose killing a girl, because killing feels good to him, period!

"Ms. Foulston informed me that it was very unlikely that Rouse, with three life sentences would ever be released."

"Very unlikely" is not certain enough. I want an ironclad guarantee that criminals such as Rouse will never be released.

The most certain way to ensure that murderers are never set free is to execute them; however, if we are not allowed to do that, at least we can insist that life in prison means life in prison.

Let's start by eliminating parole hearings for anyone serving a life sentence.

"I bet the justice system could be influenced if these individuals were followed and kept a record of."

Good idea. Additionally - how about holding Parole Boards responsible for their INSANE actions. How about NAMING and putting a FACE on these parole clowns, and those that go to bat for their early release.

THREE LIFE SENTENCES this POS was given. How did they justify releasing this animal???

There's the beauty of a death sentence even if the scum bag isn't executed. At the very least it keeps him in prison for the rest of his life appealing the sentence.

It's worse. He appeared to be having trouble with his car and she went to help him.

Yo're right. He could have gon into a bank with a toy gun, tried to rob it, and waited for the cops to come and pick him up. Absolutely no need to do anyting violent at all.

Why doesn't Bush get in front of this? He can go out and state he is recommended to states to give juries the option of the death penality for child sexual assault. Many lives were destroyed by this monster, not just two. It will never end until their lives are ended.

No one would criticize Bush for doing this. How could they? Unless they would claim he is doing it to distract from Iraq.

This guy should be studied. While he is on death row, science should have access to him to study what makes him do what he does. Im not looking for cures, Im looking for the gene that causes it. Sex offenders are wired wrong-they cant be cured, so now that he has murdered again, he owes a debt to science as well as society. Find out what causes the people to do stuff like this and maybe we can head it off in young people who might offend. Awaiting the flames..

I do not see a /sarcasm tag, so you must mean it.

Several things are wrong with your suggestion.

First, you seem to believe that criminality is caused by a gene. The is no credible evidence of the existence of such a gene.

Second, how exactly would "science" study these criminals? Leaving aside dissection (which seems appropriate), it is hard to see what a scientist could do to study a murderer or child molester.

Finally, you say that sex offenders cannot be cured; yet you argue that we should study such offenders to "head off" their criminality. But if they cannot be cured, than what is left to do about them? Preventative detention would not be constitutional.

They just had to throw in the fact that she was home-schooled, like that led to her death. SPIT::

Excellent argument against the mush-heads who would abolish the death penalty. If he'd been fried the first time the girl would still be alive.

A convicted child murderer who was paroled

Indeed, the problem is the sentence portion I quoted.

Could just abolish the parole board. The problem is that the voters apparently don't want to do that.
