"Whatever the motives of the other chickenhawks, like the neo-cons who wanted to go to ''Jerusalem through Baghdad''"
For a priest this clown Greeley sure sounds like a gay-bashing anti-Semite.

From article:
He still seems to insist that the Iraq war is the central front in the war on global terror"Seems". lol. There's no "seems" about it. President Bush has said this assertively. Clearly. Directly.
And he is absolutely RIGHT.
No waffling from him, like we get from Dems and their opining pundits in the Chicago Sun-Times; who "seems" unable to grasp facts.
President Bush does not "botch" truth.

WRONG.
The central question should be:
Would we really be safer today if there were THREE crazy dictators with the ability to produce nuclear weapons???
It totally blows my mind that people like Greeley are seemingly pining for the "good old days" of Saddam Hussein.
I wish somebody would start asking these people if it would be OK with them if we had lost the same 2800 men and women in Afghanistan to the same jihadis, only they were receiving weapons, training, and money from Iraq as well as Iran! Do they really think we would be any closer to winning a war in Afghanistan if Saddam were still around?

They especially misunderstood the propensity in that deeply troubled society for Muslims to delight in killing other Muslims
Ha! I found the one thing in the article that is true(of course I had to take it out of context, so, the author is still wrong on all counts)

I say Father Greeley should stick to writing soft-core romance novels about Irish Catholics in Chicago. He's less morally dangerous that way.

Is this the same Greeley who writes the novels?

The most vain President in my memory was William Jefferson Clinton. Not only did he think he was better than the Office of the President, he held his finger to the wind for approval, when he wasn't lying to cover up his true tactics.
He truly cared more about his legacy than the future of our Country.

My hunch is that the answer can be found in the president's words when he was told about the attack: "This is war!" In point of fact, it was not. It was a vicious assault by a gang of international criminals, not a war in any sense that the word has traditionally meant. International criminals? This guy is clueless,to hold that view in 2006. -Tom
