It would be interesting to go ahead and let the Northeast leave the union. Let them go wit all the welfare that you could ever want, homosexual marriage, high taxes and excessive regulation. Let the liberals and freeloaders flock there and watch it go under.

But we'd have to build a really large fence. A lot of them have already moved to Florida, California, etc (heck, even Texas) and immediately whine about how backwards we are and how it was much better in their liberal-run hellhole.
Oh, and keep a slice of the Northeast for all the dope-smoking Libertarians while you're at it.
