Iraq urges calm ahead of Saddam verdict

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.

CNN just mentioned that Iraqi security forces killed 50 AlQaeda types yesterday - reporter in Baghdad seemed kinda perplexed that it was mentioned by CNN International anchor, like that's not supposed to be stated ...

And you were working for them before the war? That must've been a shocking development. Were you given a choice or was it a must? No, it's always been my choice. I can leave anytime I want. I was working in the private sector doing procurement and logistics on large international projects and traveling around the world some on business trips. Just living a normal, happy life in Houston.
When the war reconstruction came up, I didn't pay much attention at first. Then I was contacted in late '03 and asked if I wanted to come over here and here I am. ;-)

I share your optimism there. Finding out the Dems won big would be like walking out my front door and seeing Charlie Brown flying his kite right after Lucy lets him kick the football.
Even if the Dems win a few seats, I think the majority will stay with the "good guys".
