DNI Disclosed Saddam's Nuclear Secrets - Is the Saddam-Terrorism Debate Reopened?
Counterterrorism blog ^ | November 4, 2006 | Andrew Cochran

Today's "New York Times" includes a story about the disclosure of a nuclear weapons "cookbook" in the huge stash of documents found in Saddam Hussein's intelligence archives and then posted on the internet archive run by the Director of National Intelligence....

Ed Morrissey of the "Captain's Quarters" blog today summarizes fascinating translations of numerous documents that point to, among other revelations, the Hussein regime's contacts with Al Qaeda. Compare the document referred to in that post to a statement this September by Sen. Rockefeller, ranking Member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, that "No evidence was found of any meeting between the Iraq regime and al-Qa'ida before the war other than a single meeting that took place in 1995 in the Sudan..." I cannot reconcile the difference without more work for which I don't have time....

As the true story about the Iraqi Snake Pit becomes more clear, will the MSM care, or do they only care about what parts of the story advance their theme du jour? Sadly, in this very Times story the answer is all to clear to people on this wonderful forum. The NYT is so intent on advancing their "Bush Lied, People Died" story line they miss how this story calls previous NYT stories into question.

I posted this yesterday:

Web site’s demise revives dispute ~Hussein’s nuclear program files ...shows... threat from Iraq.

****************Excerpt **********************

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice

“ …There clearly were an awful lot of nuclear documents floating around Iraq, which suggest that this is someone who’d not given up on his ambitions.”

****************************************

On the “Laura Ingraham Show,” she cited the documents in arguing that Hussein was a threat. “The interesting thing is that there clearly were an awful lot of nuclear documents floating around Iraq, which suggest that this is someone who’d not given up on his ambitions,” Rice said.

The truth stares or slaps the libs right in the face, but they still refuse to acknowledge it. For ideological hate-Bush and Republicans reasons they can't. They were and are wrong about Hussein and his wmds, and they know it.
