Dick Morris: Polls Show GOP Tilt

The latest polls show a tilt to the Republicans, noted political strategist Dick Morris tells NewsMax exclusively.

Morris made the following observations late Sunday:

The Republicans will lose the House.

The Republicans will likely keep the Senate.

The GOP now has a lock on Tennessee, and four other states remain in contention: Montana, Missouri, Virginia and Rhode Island. The Democrats have to win all four to get control of the Senate. Morris says that is highly unlikely.

The latest voter trends suggest the Republicans may not face disaster. The most recent Pew poll has the generic Democratic vote up just 4 points over the Republican vote. Morris says the GOP has been closing an 8 to 9 point gap in the past week.

But Morris says other developments may help the Republicans, including the verdict against Saddam Hussein.

Morris indicates polling over the weekend will show if the GOP may be rebounding even more just a day before Election Day.

Stay tuned . . .

True....and the House has the power of the purse.

Both are important...in my book the Senate is more so at this juncture in our history, but I am very worried about what the Dems will do if they get the House. It would be awful.

I'd be encouraged; however Michael Barone thinks the house is gone and we'll probably keep the Senate.

Barone is the sharpest political analyst there is.

I chalk it up to Morris' watching the poll numbers constantly. Of course his view will change -- every news cycle affects the polls.

If I were running for office and needed good solid advice, I'd consider Dick Morris seriously.

Do you think we will win the fight in TX-22?

Alex, I think SSG has a good shot and I would not have said that three weeks ago. She has a good ground game and everyone in the district has heard "vote twice for Shelley" many times. With the President's visit and the conservative nature of the district combined with a carpetbagging opponent, I'm cautiously optimistic.

The same Dick Morris that was Clinton's political guru when they lost 54 seats in th house and 9 in the senate in 1994, that Dick Morris? Yeah, he can read a crystal ball. I am calling it here like Rove, we will maintain majorities in the house and senate. Call across a mine field covered in broken glass to vote!

Remember, Clinton based all his decisions on polls. Now we know that polls are never right...

Isn't that an oxymoron? Barone is smart because he never goes against Conventional Wisdom and follows the crowd. He missed the last election and the one before that but he is surely going to predict this one.

Pray for W and The Election

I've noticed that every other Dick Morris opinion is pro-GOP. The others are pro-dem.

Dick Morris is milking this for all its worth.
