For Michigan Polling, EPIC-MRA is the big player. I've never heard of Mitchell Research before.

Yeah. I actually thought Mitchell Research was the "MRA" portion, until an article specifically cited both organizations.

Someone will be along shortly to edyoomakate us. :-)

EPIC-MRA doesn't seem to have bothered to do a poll since, oh, hmm, the day *before* the Democrat Hara-Kerry self-butchery.

Mitchell Research in 2004 picked Kerry in Michigan in its last pre-election poll and I believe it was by more than the 3 percent margin he won the state with. So I think they have a good track record.

EPIC/MRA is run by a former Democrat staffer, and had the reputation of oversampling Democrats when I worked in Lansing. Mitchell Communications I think is the former MRG, which did most of its work for Republicans.

The Republican Senatorial Committee gave Bouchard over $1million last week--I don't think they would do that unless he was within striking distance.

If memory serves, Mitchell is considered a fair source. I think they have been fairly accurate in Michigan.
