he's on with Hannity saying he'll caucus with the Dems to protect his seniority, but will vote against them when he thinks it's the right thing to do. The 'pubs should offer him his seat on the Homeland Security and Armed Forces committees with seniority if he'll caucus with them. He wouldn't be a problem there as he sees eye to eye with the 'pubs there.

After Dems fail to take the Senate, there may be pressure on Reid to deny Lieberman his Ranking Member status...if Reid gives in to the leftie loonies..then it could be very interesting..

Joe is with them on almost every social issue, but solidly GOP when it comes to national security. I wouldn't expect him to change everything he thinks. But if he stays in our corral on the War on Terror, more power to him.

...of course, he may reconsider when he sees how the backbiting bastards in the Democratic Party treat him like the fertilizer in the punch bowl after he kicks the @$$ of the Dem candidate in this election...

He did say that the experince has been "enlightening." That's another way is that of saying that he looks at things differently. If he wins, he owes his party nothing.

I think an Independent Sen. Lieberman could turn against the forced positions his dependency on the Dems has forced him into -- such as pretending to support abortion on demand and many pro-gay positions, when we all know his religious convictions tell him otherwise. I am thinking abot how LBJ, once he became President, pushed HARD for civil rights because, as he said, he "didn't have them to worry about anymore". The 'them' referred to the racist southern Dems he was formerly beholden to. If Lieberman won't switch outright, he could at least be counted on to vote the 'right' way on Iraq, as well as many social issues.

That would be a REALLY dumb move on the GOP's part!
