A Democrat House will refuse to fund the Iraq war (which is what they did in the 70's - refused to fund the Vietnam war)

They woulden't dare to this time. Unlike during Vietnam the military is popular with the people. To try and starve the military of funding would be political suicide for the Rats. They also know they have no alternative strategy, so they will let it go for the next 2 years while conducting endless hearings and investigations with the aim of decreasing the military's standing in the country, and trying to ensure a Rat in the White House in 08.

Re: #15. Agree with you. The war will not be de-funded. Attempts to tie it to other bills will fail - US military personnel would be used as pawns by Dems - that will not go well.

If anything, there will be more gridlock, and endless investigations. I also don't think Dems will allow themselves to convene Impeachment hearings - they will come just short of that.

If Dems win the House, the ball will be largely in President Bush's court. It will test his political skills to be able to deal with the House being controlled by the opposition party.

I'm with you, Kozak. I think you'll see both the Dems and the MSM change their tune should Congress change hands. Very rapidly the tone of news reports will change, and the Dems will sing the withdrawal tune, all the while dragging their feet. Ultimately they'll try to take credit for their "victory" in Iraq.
