GOP Senate Incumbents Lose in Pa., Ohio
Updated 9:16 PM ET November 7, 2006
By TOM RAUM
WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrats, seizing on voter unrest over the Iraq war, defeated incumbent Republicans in Ohio and Pennsylvania on Tuesday in a bid to take control of the Senate.
In Pennsylvania, Democrat Bob Casey, son of a popular former governor, defeated incumbent Sen. Rick Santorum, a conservative and third-ranking member of the Senate GOP leadership. Democratic Rep. Sherrod Brown beat GOP incumbent Mike DeWine in Ohio, a state where Republican scandals was devastating for the party.
Sen. Joseph Lieberman, the Democrats' vice presidential candidate in 2000 but running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary, kept his seat from Connecticut.

I do not understand how they can say there is a winner when 2% of the vote is in, and the "winner" has less votes than the "loser?"

Christ! The thought of having to listen to Bob Casey for six long years is almost more than I can take. I need to find a good conservative state to move to...

Stay upbeat no matter what. Conservatives are optimistic even in difficult situations; we won't let the Democrats break our spirits even if they win Congress. I sure don't want us to become ugly like they've been in opposition.

The question is not whether these projections are mostly false. Thats a given. The question is how will pollsters and journalists salvage their reputations after this?
And especially those who were supposed to be conservative like Bill Kristol? Who will trust him?

How weird is it that Lieberman lots the Dem nomination because of his support for the war but won reelection while Republicans appear to be going down because of their support for the war! Bizarre.
There will be no living with Speaker Pelosi, et al.

Keep praying for a big upset for the Dims. att.net home page also shows some other catchy biased headlines, but clicking on them just brings up ERROR ON PAGE, so maybe they're not so sure either!

Thats what Dewine gets for being such a RINO. Conservatives will win when they run as conservatives. I just can't believe Granholm won. Worst economy in the nation and she wins re-election.
