So what say you.

I say they will not allow a vote on issues like life.

If they do Casey will suddenly become pro choice.

The Democrats had to fake being conservative. Its going to be interesting to see many of the Democrats elected from GOP districts square their professed conservatism with the hard leftist ideology of the party's leaders.

Our new overlords will be heading the house committees, these people are the enemies of America.

The newbie congressionman will be beholden to them and will do their bidding.

The Islamic radicals must be kissing their camels and giving their goats STD's for joy in a moonbat American Congress

"This is a Disaster for America and the World"

I understand how you feel and you may be right but I will share with you I felt very much the same in the 70's with the tanking of Nixon, the cut and run from Viet Nam and the hell of Carter. I felt sure that the loss of the proxy war would be a disaster.

It gave us a chance to find conservatives and eventually tank the Soviet Union. True Carter gave us some problems we're still living with much like Clinton did, but such is the nature of the world.

I can't exactly say with conviction that it's darkest before the dawn, but perhaps if this helps us find our conservative nature again, what with us out liberaling liberals not quite working out, we'll find our ground again and next time around offer a conservative agenda.

Exactly, they will be 'forced' to tow the line.

One hope is that their level of conservatism actually causes a party split. They will have to be real tough first termers to accomplish it. They would have to be willing to lift the mask of the leaders of the democratic party and reveal them for what they are.

I don't hold out much for that hope.

You do realize if Al Qaeda explodes a nuclear device in America, all discussion of getting back on track will be rendered irrelevant. The Democrats do not realize the enemy is different from the Soviets - they're not interested in negotiations, compromise or co-existence. They want to kill us. As I see it, yesterday's vote was to resume the 90s holiday from history. It is as if 9/11 never happened. Well we will find out what the Party Of 9/10 has in store for us all.

I think this is a la Carter after Watergate-- a reaction.

I think that the reaction will be both political and economic.

Debt is now 300% of GDP - much higher than 1929.

A lot of Americans have no memory of the Carter years and the Misery Index and the loss of American prestige and power. The Democrats have learned nothing from Vietnam. They did a masterful job of hiding their leftist agenda from the American people. But for them the problem is that to survive, they have to implement that agenda. And that will cost them dearly in the long run.

The Bible says that the poor will always be with us. Apparently so will the stupid.

LOL!! I would argue that the two are inextricably intertwined.

BTW, yours is the only post that I could bring myself to respond to today. What a terrible day for the country. But, hey, we get the government we deserve.

Well hopefully our security forces will be able to stop AQ from exploding a nuke device but to look at it from a much larger historical perspective in a war it is not unlikely that it will happen.

If it happens many Americans will die. Unfortunately we've been running a PC war that doesn't recognize that war is killing the enemy not "winning their hearts and minds". I killed as many Germans as I could, probably hundreds, because we knew that killing the enemy and not getting dead myself was how you win. AQ knows this. Apparently those in DC don't.

As callous as it sounds, and I have zero desire to see it happen, but it may be something as disastrous as that to allow us to regain our perspective on what's at stake and what it takes.

Heath Shuler of North Carolina is typical of the type of candidate Rahm Emanuel picked to run. He is pro-life, pro-gun, has said he will oppose tax increases. He refuses to answer the question as to whether he will vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. The litmus test for Emanuel, and apparently for voters, is each candidates' stance on Iraq.

This means we may get a new Speaker, and definitely means there will be war within the Dem camp. Emanuel has won a big battle with Howard Dean. The problem is that support for the war will be seen as a death blow to REPUBLICANS who are up for reelection in 2008.

We will be out of Iraq soon, but I'm not so sure all is lost there. What happens in Iraq now is on the Democratic Party.

We are now Spain to the jihadis, look for the US mainland to be back on the list of acceptable targets.

There are two ways to look at this: on the one hand, the dems and other American apologists want to remake the country in their warped, amoral image and on the other hand, mid-term elections during war-time in the past 100 years have dealt far worse blows to the party in power (see FDR's bio and elections). I believe there was election fraud, not just the so-called surprise of the Foley misdoings. For example, why is that the predominantly black, liberal precincts reported results VERY LATE, enough to know the margin they had to make up, in the VA Senate race? Why would it take 7-8 hours to count 2,000 - 3,000 votes?

Of course, the NP and HC leadership will blame Bush and use it as an excuse to raise taxes, even as they raise program funding levels.
