Every county is in, except for some odd bits in a few rural counties, except Yellowstone, which is not in at all, and super heavily GOP Meagher county, which is not in at all. The only problem with Meager County, is that is has about 700 total voters. It is big sky country.
Burns only down by 4000 now. Is there any hope?
some counties that Bush won rather easy in 2004 went to tester this year (ie lewis and clark)
We just broke under the 4000 vote barrier - it looks possible to me. I mixed up the counties in my recollection of earlier reading - Yellowstone is the key, but there are enough others to help too! Fingers crossed!
Also, how about some perspective - it has been a bad night, 20 years ago was also a poor night, in the midpoint of Reagans second term. What were the numbers then? Senate 55/45 dems, House 258/177 dems. I think we still managed to get a lot done! I would say the numbers are much better now and 2008 will swing them back to our side. We have a principled president, hopefully Burns will barely let us hold the senate - lets get to work - the problem is the press - Reagan overcame that, President Bush needs our help in doing that. One word - FORWARD!
Fox News says with 81% counting 4 thousand vote difference
Yellowstone County in 2000:
Burns 29434
Democrat 26790
Narrow win by 2644.
I've been looking at the Montana results and comparing to 2000. Quite simply, it looks like as many Montanans are voting for the Democrat as they did in 2000 - but fewer Montanans are voting for Burns.
Burns will likely lose this.
says down by 7200 on the site

Tester I suspect will go into Yellowstone with about a 2,000 vote lead, after everything else is counted.
It is a little over 5,000 now on the site unless my math is bad
There are still four counties with zero on the site
I was going to bed but I am staying up until this goes one way or the other if it takes all night!
5200 now on the montanta SOS site..still no Yeollowstone
Thank you! I thought I subtracted right!
My teenaged son wants me to stay up too -- I would hate to stay up 2 more hours and then lose all over again.
What's different about next Tuesday?
We do need to push heavily against 3rd party candidates getting our precious votes in 2008. Let's face it: every vote for a Libertarian today (yesterday!) hurt us.
I know but I have a hunch if I go to bed, I will not go to sleep and be back here in short order as I refuse to turn on the TV and hear the MSM dim shills.
This reminds me of 2000 and 2004 in the Presidential election.
Fox News has it 3600 votes with 82% counted
The CNN site is updating faster, but has consistently agreed once the SoS site catches up.
Currently
144740 Tester
141101 Burns
82%
