Yes, I knew Irey wouldn't have a good chance to win (but I loved her spirit and campaign and donated anyway), but Steele is where I had a real hope we could actually get one of the good guys in.

But I don't think Steele is finished. He should run for Governor and then perhaps the Presidency itself isn't out of reach for him.

I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

There's nothing more disappointing than a genuinely good candidate being left in the cold. The same can be said for Santorum - his concession speech was on British television, and he was principled and full of grace.
