On reflection, Torie sounds like Pissed-Up-Brit. Ignorant: Proud: and proud of his ignorance.

Torie isn't a Brit, he's a Californian, but I guess he is interested in British politics or something is why he chose that screen name. I think his ancestors were from there.

Torie liked to read the books of Balkan "experts" who pushed the mainstream agenda - those authors who suddenly started writing on the Balkans when the wars started (and wrote no Balkans books before). One of Torie's favorites is Noel Malcolm. The books rather enhanced his being brainwashed because he is geared to the belief that U.S. foreign policy is essentially very moral and right, and had no agenda or ulterior motives in the Balkans, and that people like Madeleine Albright are automatically good because they were/are at the helm of power. So the books were kind of an affirmation of what he wanted to believe and he wouldn't allow himself to believe otherwise.

Torie is in a way Hoplite's sidekick when he posts on the Balkan forums. You can just see the adoration Torie has for Hoplite, his hero of the Balkan forums, and such a force against the "wolf pack" - which is what Torie has called us pro-Serb Freepers. Torie was furious with me once when I dared say something about Hoplite's jackbooted thug mentality towards Serbs. Usually he never displays a temper, but when you insult the great insulter Hoplite himself in front of Torie, it can quite anger him.

They are both a lot a like in that they will support and justify anything the U.S. does in the Balkans, and especially if it is anti-Serb.
