All Eyes On Hillary: Will She Run In '08?
WCBS-TV ^ | November 8, 2006

For months, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has sidestepped questions about whether she would run for the White House by saying she was totally focused on her re-election. She no longer has that excuse.

Fresh off a victory that saw her carry 59 of New York's 62 counties, including wide swaths of the more conservative upstate region, Clinton would appear well positioned for that run for the White House that many think she will make.

But will she do it?

As she began a victory lap around the state Wednesday at a breakfast with New York City firefighters, the former first lady wasn't saying.

"All I'm doing is thinking about going back to work next week in Washington," she said. "I'm going to relish this victory."

Clinton then headed to Long Island before flying upstate, both areas where she did poorly in 2000, but which she largely swept this time against Republican challenger John Spencer, a little-known former mayor of Yonkers. Independent pollster Lee Miringoff said that while Clinton's latest victory was impressive, it should be kept in perspective.

"What you are talking about is a very blue state where she was able to run up the score against weak opposition," said Miringoff, head of Marist College's Institute for Public Opinion. "What she has to do now is convince Democrats, who got a taste on Tuesday of what it's like to win, that she can do that nationally."

And waiting out there for her are possible challenges on the Democratic side from the likes of John Edwards and Barack Obama, and on the Republican side from John McCain and Rudy Giuliani. None of them are a John Spencer.

Some aides and advisers say they expect a Clinton decision by the end of this year or early in 2007.

All eyes on Hillary? Do we at least get to wear sunglasses? Can I just blindfold myself and be done with it?

Yes but she will lose the primaries. Outflanked on both the right (by someone like Mark Warner who I think will change his mind) and left (by someone like Russ Feingold with a more consistent liberal record).

"I'm going to relish this victory."

Please....that's a victory to relish as much as the Yankees (her favorite team) would savor a win over Little Leaguers.

The fact she even mentions "relish" means I'll eat my hot dogs plain, from now on.

She might not be able to run...but she will certainly waddle for the Presidency.

She can save some and give the rest to others.

Do you think we can put a ban on Ms. clinton articles for the rest of this week at least? I am sick and tired of seeing all this crap posted day after day giving her free publicity from this site.

Focus on getting our party back in shape and ignore the *itch for the timing being.

I swear Hillary supporters are here to post all these articles and who cares what she is doing right now. We have enough problems without having to look at her name in article after article.

Oh, she'll be running, all right. Don't let her coy remarks fool you. Her jones for power will not be satisfied until she becomes President.

Do I think she will win? Not a chance!

Does a bear sh*t in the woods? Of course she'll run.

What unit were you with in the 2d ID, and when were you with them? I did a tour in the ROK with the 3rd/23rd INF.

She might try, but mark my words on this; I live in Illinois & Barrack Obama is going to be the 2008 Golden Boy of the RAT party & he will take the Hildabeasts title as Prez of the U.S.

I can't turn on TV or radio or any news media that B. Obama isn't in it or on it or at some function. He will steal her thunder & N. Pelosi has stolen the spotlight from Old Crusty too, she will be forgotten before 2008!

But will she do it?

Apparently Hillary Rodham has ordered her media servants to build up some artifical suspense.

. FLASH *** FLASH *** FLASH **** FLASH

Actung!

Hillary Rodham* will be announcing her entry into the primary elections for POTUS.

However, there might be Hell To Pay for news outlets not asking the question anyway, AND

It will be prearranged that throngs of pathetic-victim- looking (but energetic) people will BEG HILLARY TO RUN in order to make it look like a spontaneous movement. (Signs must appear individually hand painted.)

(*Prediction, HRC will be changing her name to Hillary Rodham before Summer 07)

.

"but mark my words on this; I live in Illinois & Barrack Obama is going to be the 2008 Golden Boy of the RAT party"

MMW - Obama will go down - by 2008 too many people will have awakened - the left may love him now but the next attack will seal his doom.
